Inhalt

Information:
König Ludwig [der Jüngere] bekennt, dass seine getreuen Grafen Brun und Otto ihm in Gegenwart der Großen das Stift Gandersheim, welches ihr Vater Liudolf zu Ehren des Protomärtyrers Stephanus gegründet und mit den Reliquien der Heiligen Anastasius und Innocentius ausgestattet hatte und in welchem ihre Schwester Gerbirg als Äbtissin den Kanonissen vorsteht unter folgenden Bedingungen übertragen haben: Er soll das Stift und die Kanonissen in seinen königlichen Schutz nehmen. Die Würde der Äbtissin solle - solange sich eine geeignete weibliche Angehörige finde - in der Familie der Stifter bleiben; andernfalls erhalten die Kanonissen das Recht der freien Äbtissinnenwahl. Er verleiht dem Stift die Immunität von der Grafengerichtsbarkeit und bestimmt, dass Freie und Hörige des Stifts nur dem Gericht des Vogtes unterstehen sollen.
