Tiefe: 5 cm (Rahmen)</mods:extent></mods:physicalDescription><mods:abstract>Querrechteckiges, fast quadratisches Landschaftsgemälde: Im Mittelgrund die Ruinen einer monumentalen, zumindest zweigeschossigen Sakralarchitektur. Der Blick fällt auf die Innenmauern, der Boden ist von Gras überwachsen. Die rechte Mauer ist im Erdgeschoss geschlossen, im Obergeschoss sind die Reste von drei großen Fenstern zu erkennen. Die links im rechten Winkel anschließende Mauer ist nur im Erdgeschoss erhalten. Neben einem Fenster fällt der Blick durch ein gotisches Portal in die Ferne, überstrahlt von der untergehenden Sonne. Am rechten und linken Bildrand wachsen Bäume und Büsche in der Ruine, das Bildfeld bühnenartig einfassend. (Städtisches Museum Braunschweig)
