Breite: 49 cm (Rahmen)</mods:extent></mods:physicalDescription><mods:abstract>Querrechteckige Darstellung der Schlacht von Ölper zwischen französisch-spanischen und braunschweigisch-hannoverschen Truppen: Der hinter den aufreißenden Wolken partiell sichtbare Vollmond beleuchtet die nächtliche Szenerie spärlich. Die ebenen Felder werden links von einzelnen Häusern hinter Bäumen, rechts von einem Turm mit Nebengebäuden (Ölper Turm?) auf einer kleinen Anhöhe begrenzt, während im Hintergrund die Silhouette Braunschweigs zu erahnen ist. Rechts des Turm sind Soldaten anhand der Mündungsfeuer ihrer Gewehre zu erahnen, ein Zivilist in Weiß wird vom Mündungsfeuer einer Kanone beleuchtet, die vermutlich auf eine Soldatengruppe vorn rechts zielte. Im Mittelgrund erkennt man - ebenfalls an den Mündungsfeuern der Gewehre - eine in Reihenformation vorrückende Einheit. (Städtisches Museum Braunschweig)
