Diese Art Molle wurde zum Messen benutzt, z.B. bei der Mettwurstherstellung. Anderer Name ist "Maßmolle".
Die Mollen wurden im ganzen aus einem Baumstamm gehauen, von Mal zu Mal eine immer kleinere Molle.
