Der Fund wurde im Bereich der Burg Clüversborstel getätigt. Die Burg Clüversborstel wurde wohl im Jahr 1478 von der Ministerialenfamile Clüver auf einer leicht erhöhten natürlichen Geländekuppe in der Wiesteniederung errichtet. 1645 wurde sie im Zuge des Dreißigjährigen Krieges zerstört.
