Durch eine erhaltene Signatur „AVGSP BEI JOHAN WILHELM MEYER NO1.“ lässt sich das Papier dem Augsburger Brokatpapierverleger und Türkischpapiermacher Johann Wilhelm Meyer (1713-1784)  (auch Meyr, Mayr, Maeyr) zuordnen.
