Fotografien Schauers nach Druckgrafiken von Kunstwerken markieren den Übergangsprozess von der Druckgrafik zur Fototechnik als Reproduktions- und Darstellungsmedium in der Kunst. 
Allmers sammelte aus der Reihe kleinformatiger Fotografien diverse Reproduktionen nach Madonnendarstellungen und -thematiken und befestigte diese meist eigenhändig in selbst angefertigte Passepartouts nach dem Vorbild der Praxis des Verlages - hier: Die unbefleckte Empfängnis der schwebenden und von Engeln umgebenen Marias nach einer Lithografie nach dem Gemälde Murillos, ursprünglich Altargemälde im Hospital de los Venerables in Sevilla, ab 1813 in der Sammlung von Nicolas Jean-de-Dieu Soult (T. Die (museale) Sammlung, bestehend aus Mobiliar und Hausgerät, Tafelgemälden, kleineren und größeren Antiken, Gipsabgüssen, kunsthandwerklichen Objekten aus Keramik und Glas und einer kleinen Bibliothek, befindet sich im Allmers-Haus in Rechtenfleth.
