Dicke: 3,9 cm</mods:extent></mods:physicalDescription><mods:abstract>Hermann Meyer fand in der Gemarkung Tarmstedt eine auffällige Steinaxt, die er dem Schulrektor Jung übergab. Von dort gelangte sie in die Sammlung Thölken und schließlich in die Sammlung der Kreisarchäologie Rotenburg (Wümme).
Es handelt sich um einen sog. hohen durchlochten Schuhleistenkeil. Der Fund belegt Kontakte mesolithischer Gruppen zur neolithischen Linearbandkeramik, Rössener Kultur oder Bischheimer Gruppe. (Stefan Hesse 06/2025)

Das Material wurde als feinstkörniger Amphibolit (Aktinolith-Hornblend-Schiefer) beschrieben (siehe Bartholomäus/Bönig-Müller, Gerken/Schliestedt 2008). Vermutlich stammt das Gesteinsmaterial aus den Sudeten- oder Karpaten-Gebiet. (Stefan Hesse 02/2026)
