Oberharzer Gangerze, die seit 1930 nur noch das Erzbergwerk Grund lieferte, verarbeiteten die Bleihütten in Clausthal und Lautenthal. Bis zur Stilllegung 1969 verschmolz Clausthal das Bleierz zu Werkblei; die Lautenthaler Silberhütte raffinierte daraus Hüttenfeinblei. (Oberharzer Bergwerksmuseum)
