Anmerkung zur Mühle:
Die älteste Erwähnung einer Mühle im Untereichsfeld können wir in der Schenkungsurkunde Heinrich II von 1016 entnehmen. Hier schenkt er Bischof Meinwerk von Paderborn die Curtis in Bernshausen mit allem Zubehör, darunter auch Mühlen. Urkundlich wird die Mühle in Bernshausen 1430 ein weiteres Mal erwähnt. 1867 wird die Mühle als Walkemühle beschrieben, in der eine mechanische Spinnerei und Webstühle betrieben wurden. Als 1884 die Mühle dem Roten Hahn zum Opfer fiel, war … das Ende der Bernshäuser Mühle gekommen.
