Information:
Der Ortsteil Farnroda ist äußerst geschichtsträchtig. Über Jahrhunderte war Farnroda im Besitz derer von Kirchberg. Der Sitz der Burggrafen war das Farnrodaer Schloss mit Rittergut und Wasserburg. Heute ist nur noch der Wasserturm erhalten.
