Anmerkung zu den Mühlen in (Neu-)Dietendorf:
Der Ort Dietendorf verfügte seit dem Mittelalter über zwei Mahlmühlen: die Bergmühle am westlichen Ortsrand und die Untermühle in der Unterstraße.  Eine weitere Mühle, die Klemmsmühle, wurde 1839-41 von Johann Gottlieb Klemm erbaut.
Im Müllerhandwerk galten Regelungen, die es auch Frauen (Witwen) gestatteten, die Mühle betreiben zu dürfen. Beispielsweise tritt Frau Anna Catharina Koch 1715 als Eigentümerin der Untermühle in Erscheinung.
