Das Massive Metallunterteil wird im oder auf dem Herd aufgeheizt. Zum Gebrauch wird nach dem Anheizen der Griff eingesteckt und arretiert. Der Griff konnte für mehrere baugleiche Bügeleisen verwendet finden, so das eines im Einsatz und eines angeheizt werden konnte.
