Angetrieben durch einen mechanischen Hebel, welcher vor und zurück bewegt werden muss, um die in der Trommel befindlichen Stege zu bewegen. Am oberen Ende des Hebels ist eine schwere gusseiserne Kugel aufgesetzt, welche durch ihren Gewicht den Hebel mehr Wirkung verleiht. Ein Gerät nach Schmidts Patent um 1914 hergestellt.
