Breite: 229 mm (Zeichnung)</mods:extent></mods:physicalDescription><mods:abstract>Die Feder- und Tuschpinselzeichnung stellt eine Mutter mit drei Kindern dar, die sich im Säuglings- bzw. Kleinkindalter befinden. Es ist die allegorische Darstellung der Caritas. Ein Kind wird von der Mutter gesäugt. Die Zeichnung aus der Sammlung von Max Graff (geboren 1882; Lugt 1157b) ist vermutlich im 18. Jahrhundert entstanden und lässt sich einem iatlienischen Künstler zuweisen. Eine Zuschreibung an Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, genannt "Il Guercino", einem italienischen Meister der im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert aktiv war, müsste einer grundlegenden Überprüfung unterzogen werden. (Lars Berg)
