Die obere und untere Kante ist leicht geschweift. Am oberen Rand befinden sich zwei Löcher zum Aufhängen des Schildes.
In der Mitte ist ein schwarzer Hut (Melone) abgebildet.
Auf der anderen Seite ist der Hut nur noch schemenhaft zu erkennen. Das Schild ist mindestens einmal erneuert worden. Die Farbe ist durch lange Lagerung rissig, teilweise verblichen und abgeblättert. (Stadtmuseum Einbeck)
