Die Grüne Tārā verkörpert das weibliche Prinzip und die göttliche Energie. Als weiblicher Bodhisattva rettet sie alle erlösungsbedürftigen Wesen aus dem Kreislauf der Wiedergeburten und hilft bei Alltagsproblemen und Gefahren. Als Schutzpatronin Tibets erfreut sich die Grüne Tārā größter Beliebtheit. Ihre halb geschlossene Sitzhaltung auf dem Lotosthron zeigt an, dass sie allzeit bereit ist zu helfen.
