Höhe: 18 cm</mods:extent></mods:physicalDescription><mods:abstract>In Stein gemeißeltes Mantra des großen indischen Tantrikers Padmasambhava, der im achten Jahrhundert den Buddhismus in Tibet einführte. Mani-Steine werden von Gläubigen an Gebirgspässen und heiligen Stätten niedergelegt, um karmische Verdienste zu sammeln. Häufig werden sie zu großen Steinhaufen aufgetürmt. Nach tibetischem Volksglauben soll das Vorbeigehen an solchen „Mani-Mauern“ Glück bringen.  (Landesmuseum Hannover)
